The Fight Against Data Centers – Save Our Farms
Opposing Data Center Destruction of Farm Land
Missouri Rural Crisis Center opposes the rampant, irresponsible development of data centers, which are an emerging threat to vital farmland and rural communities across the Show-Me State.
Much like concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs), which MRCC has opposed for decades, data centers are wasteful, capital-intensive industrial facilities controlled by monopolistic, multinational corporations who operate without any accountability to surrounding communities.

Hyperscale Data Centers are popping up all across Missouri, especially in rural communities, where they threaten our farmland and water. MRCC is gathering support from Missourians in all corners of our state to stand up and fight back against this corporate threat to our health, communities and environment. Add your name to our petition today and share it with your family, friends and neighbors!
From Festus to Joplin, we all deserve the freedom to live in healthy communities, make a good living, and have a say-so in the decisions that affect our lives. But certain state lawmakers are doing the bidding of tech billionaires and developers who want to rake in record profits by running roughshod over our communities, to build dirty data centers that make their CEOs richer at the expense of our jobs, our water and energy, and our way of life. So we’re taking our message directly to them during the special session in September. Join MRCC and the No MO Dirty Data Centers Coalition to pack the Capitol Rotunda in Jeff City and make our voices heard. Together, we can make Missouri a place that works for all of us, no exceptions!
When: September 16th at 1:00 pm
Where: Missouri State Capitol – 201 W. Capital Ave, Jefferson City, MO
