Last week, Patchwork Family Farms donated over 150 pounds of pork to our UAW allies on strike in St. Louis. Did you know that numerous UAW locals stood up with and supported family farmers during the farming crisis in the 1980s? They even donated food to us for our emergency food distributions when farmers couldn’t afford to buy food. We believe that everyone deserves fair wages for their work– it is a core principle of how we run Patchwork to keep family farmers on the land and in business, despite corporate pressures on the market. We know it’s a drop in the bucket, but we’re happy to help and stand in solidarity as we can.
