MRCC was interviewed on this FoodPrint podcast about the “Power of Big Pork”…although, here at MRCC, we know that all of us, farmers, consumers, urban and rural, have the real power when we unite and fight against corporate control of our food system and democratic process.
“It’s really a question of, who does our democratic process represent–does it represent people, and the vast majority of voters out here, or does it represent special interests, and a small subset of millionaires, and billionaires and corporations?”
“The important thing about absentee ownership of our land and of our food system, what we find is the further that control gets away from that land in particular, the less they care about the people that live there, the less they care about the economies, the communities, the less they care about the water and air.”
