Yesterday, Senator’s Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) introduced Fast-Track legislation, an anti-democratic procedure that gives away Congress’ Constitutional trade authority to the President.
All the while, the vast majority of Americans (75%) think that current “free trade agreements” should be delayed or rejected, according to a bipartisan poll from the Wall Street Journal and NBC News.
STOP Fast-Track & the Trans Pacific Partnership
Call your Congressperson TODAY & TOMORROW–tell them to oppose Fast-Track and this destructive trade deal!!
The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is the biggest and most sweeping international trade agreement in our nation’s history and Fast-Track trade authority would give the President the ability to force a quick up or down vote while bypassing our democratic process.
AND, this so-called “free” trade deal has been negotiated entirely in secret by corporate lobbyists.
- This trade agreement would increase the import of food from foreign sources without the checks of U.S. food safety standards.
- These trade agreements could take away local control, nullify Missouri laws and undermine the U.S. Constitution.
- The TPP could also strip laws that protect our “right to know” where our food comes from, such as Country of Origin Labeling (COOL).
Please Call Your Congressional Representative Today and tell them to Oppose Fast Track and TPP!!
